Responsibilities

At United Schools, the Assistant School Director (ASD) position is an opportunity for passionate educators to help lead a United campus under the direction of the School Director. The ASD focuses on either Academics or Culture & Operations, with significant overlap in responsibilities. The ASD ensures thoughtful curriculum development, rigorous instruction and assessment, manages instructional staff, leads school‑based operations and culture teams, builds a positive and joyful school culture, and uses data intelligently to continually improve the school and better serve students and families.

Qualifications
  • Education: Holds a B.A./B.S. degree (required); advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least five years of proven school leadership and teaching experience in urban settings, with an emphasis on data‑driven instruction and demonstrable gains in student achievement.
  • Knowledge &

    Skills:

    Commitment to data‑driven instructional practices, curriculum development, lesson design, assessment, continuous improvement; openness to frequent feedback from team members; effective communication with students, families, and colleagues; proficiency with Google products.
Terms of Employment

Full‑time position. Reports Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.; some tasks may extend outside these hours. Salary commences at $75,000 for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree, and varies with experience and education.
