Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative Math teacher to teach high school during the  school year.

Summary:

Create a class environment conducive to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continuing education in accordance with each student’s ability; forge healthy relationships with parents and other staff members.

Responsibilities
  • Curriculum & Planning: Prepare, update, and submit curriculum maps that include state standards and assessment material; collaborate with content‑area teachers to vertically align maps; implement district curriculum provided by curriculum teams.
  • Instruction: Deliver engaging, relevant lessons aligned with the curriculum map; modify instruction based on classroom assessment data; adjust instructional practices for students with IEP, 504, ELL, or Gifted identifications.
  • Assessment & Classwork: Use both formal and informal assessments throughout lessons; assign regular classwork/Homework to review or prepare for upcoming lessons; employ varied instructional strategies—such as inquiry, group discussions, lecture, discovery, and instructional aides—to engage students in active learning.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive educational climate; implement a positive behavior reward system; follow all PPA policies to ensure program uniformity.
  • Professional Development: Observe and collaborate with other building teachers through peer observation; attend professional development opportunities during the school year or summer; reflect on and evaluate lessons, policies, and practices.
  • Build a relationship with students and parents; maintain strong collaborative relationships with teachers, instructional support staff, and others; support the PPA team at all times, particularly when communicating with parents and students.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
