DescriptionThe School of Music, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Youth Summer Music Programs Staff Associate to join our team. The College is the largest college at The Ohio State University and the academic heart of the university, hosting 81 majors across 38 departments and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members. The College values diversity and offers a supportive, open, and inclusive community.
Each summer, we welcome hundreds of student musicians to campus where they participate in programs specifically designed to further their skills, understanding of, and love for music. Our dedicated faculty craft diverse and rich activities that provide each student with a meaningful musical experience.
Responsibilities- Assist camp directors with music rehearsals, group work, and sectional coaching.
- Help with attendance and student movement within the School of Music and across campus.
- Support camp programming and curriculum design.
- Assist with student attendance, camper drop‑off, and pick‑up.
High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience in music teaching. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, instructors, and community partners. Knowledge of music education pedagogy, curriculum development, and assessment.
