Position Overview
The Ohio Prison Education Exchange Project (OPEEP) is hiring a semester lecturer to teach a yoga and mindfulness workshop series at the Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW) in Marysville. OPEEP is working to expand the range of prison-based programming in the Arts and Sciences.
Performance Objectives & Responsibilities- Serve as instructor for a series of yoga and mindfulness workshops, meeting four (4) times for two and a half (2.5) hours each over the summer 2026 semester (June through August). Workshop dates and times will be determined by OPEEP staff in coordination with the instructor and the facility.
- Design and deliver workshops, including developing workshop programming and intended participant outcomes.
- Provide timely feedback to OPEEP staff about program delivery, effectiveness, and participant experience and engagement.
- Communicate with and provide on‑site support to participants, offering general guidance on yoga practice as appropriate within the scope of instruction.
- Lead all scheduled workshop sessions throughout the semester.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of a Yoga Alliance 200‑Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT‑200) certification program or an equivalent nationally recognized certification program.
- Prior experience teaching yoga and mindfulness classes.
- Reliable transportation to and from the primary work location during scheduled hours.
- Ability to pass the necessary ODRC background check process.
- Completion of OPEEP instructor training.
- Prior experience working with incarcerated populations in a prison setting.
