Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus. Obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. Faculty will have earned a doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

As part of the Gene Therapy Institute, the incumbent will work closely with translational scientists across basic science departments and within the Institute, building a multi‑disciplinary research environment to rapidly advance therapies to treat disease. Individuals with research interests in novel gene therapy approaches (viral, non‑viral) to manipulate brain function in health and disease are encouraged to apply.

• Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, post‑doctoral training, and a commitment to basic and/or translational neuroscience.
• History of strong research productivity, including ability to establish independent research programs and develop collaborative ideas.
• Research Statement detailing planned independent research, description of previous research experience, and a detailed curriculum vitae.

• Clinical faculty: assistant professor‑clinical, associate professor‑clinical, professor‑clinical. Not eligible for tenure; focused on clinical care, with possible teaching or research.
• Tenure‑Track faculty: assistant professor, associate professor, professor. Eligible for tenure; primary focus on research, service, and teaching. May participate in clinical care.
• Research faculty: research assistant professor, research associate professor, research professor. Not eligible for tenure; focus on research only.
