** Department of Computer Science and Engineering College of Engineering The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at The Ohio State University invites applications for an open rank professional practice (non-tenure-track) faculty appointment.

Position Overview These are untenured clinical-track five-year contract faculty positions.

Responsibilities for these positions include developing, enhancing, and teaching courses and academic programs across the computer science curriculum. In addition, the faculty members will participate in activities that increase the outreach and engagement of the department. The faculty members are also expected to contribute to the functioning of the department through service activities such as participation on departmental committees.

Performance Objectives
* Assistant-level Appointment   + Potential for excellence in teaching and in the adoption and promotion of best practices in teaching;  + Potential for leadership in the design of course curricula and programs,  + Potential for leadership in the support of extracurricular student activities and organizations;  + Potential for leadership in service in education, both within and outside the university.
* Associate/Full Appointment  + A strong record in teaching courses and in adopting and promoting best teaching practices  + A strong record in academic program development  + A strong record of service and leadership in their field.  + A strong record of mentorship (students or employees).

Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

* A Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related computing field.  Ph.D. must be completed by the time of appointment.
* Evidence of teaching and/or mentoring teams (students or employees) in the computing field.

Desired
* Experience with developing new courses and degree programs.
* Experience with online teaching and programs, experiential teaching, informal learning, and/or outreach and engagement.
* Experience teaching at the graduate, undergraduate, or professional levels
* Student and peer feedback on teaching effectiveness
* Curricular and content development and innovations
* Textbook and course material development
* Pedagogical innovations or publications about teaching of computing
* Development of novel educational programs
* Participation in committees and organizations that connect the department to broader initiatives
* Contributions to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in classroom teaching, in curricular development, or in outreach and engagement
* Clear plans to create, implement, and oversee engagement with industrial or government partners.
