Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in education, special education, early childhood education, education administration, or a related field, or evidence of equivalency.
  • Three to five years of successful classroom teaching, school improvement planning, special education administration, career‑technical administration, or related experience.
  • Appropriate license for the profession (e.g., special education administration, general education, intervention specialist, early learning, related services).
  • Knowledge and experience with work‑based learning programs and the skills required to supervise a quality program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
  • Documentation of a clear criminal record and compliance with drug‑free workplace rules and Board policies.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Participate in Office for Exceptional Children and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act selective reviews related to career‑technical education for students with disabilities.
  • Serve as a CPSN team member to support district and building leadership teams and teacher‑based teams on career‑technical education services for students with disabilities.
  • Collect and review career‑technical pathway data to identify professional learning and technical assistance needs.
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning and technical assistance on a self‑review of the school/district’s capacity to provide special education services to students with disabilities in career‑technical education.
  • Provide information and resources to keep CTPDs and districts current on federal and state initiatives related to students with disabilities and career‑technical education.
  • Coordinate regional collaborative networks to address the needs of special education within career‑technical education.
  • Work collaboratively with CPSN consultants, SST consultants, educational agencies, community stakeholders, and families to ensure students with disabilities in career‑technical education have access to effective instructional practices.
  • Support CTPDs and districts in developing high expectations for the achievement of diverse learners and ensuring effective instructional practices in the least restrictive environment.
  • Attend State CPSN, statewide consultant meetings, and local, state, and regional conferences for professional development as approved.
  • Learn content and provide technical assistance on statewide initiatives such as the Career Connected Learning Framework, Industry Recognized Credentials, and the delivery of CTE to students with disabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
  • Possibility of remote work or frequent in‑person duties.
  • Tasks may require bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, standing, lifting, carrying, and operating a vehicle.
  • Travel to meetings and assignments may be required.
  • Use of computer facilities required.
  • Extended hours and time‑constrained work may be expected.
  • Potential exposure to adverse weather, blood‑borne pathogens, communicable diseases, and aggressive or disruptive individuals.
Performance Evaluations

Job performance is evaluated according to the policy provisions adopted by the Governing Board of the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio.

Conduct

Each staff member must remain free of any alcohol or non‑prescribed controlled substances and must not abuse prescribed controlled substances in the workplace.

Terms of Employment

Each staff member shall be a role model for students, uphold ethical principles and democratic values, and maintain proper certification/licensure. This job description is subject to change based on funding, technology, and other factors.
