Responsibilities- Coordinate, deliver, and maintain the Lead Ohio:
Foundations of Supervision (LO:FoS) curriculum in compliance with the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) requirements. - Assess organizational training needs and consult with managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and stakeholders to design appropriate training solutions.
- Develop and update training materials, including guides, activities, assessments, and multimedia content using adult‑learning principles.
- Plan and facilitate New Employee Orientation and interpersonal skills training, including scheduling, logistics, and participant registration.
- Deliver supervisory, managerial, and executive‑level training using varied instructional methods and collaboration with SMEs.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, performance data, and feedback, and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate records, training reports, schedules, and documentation for DAS reporting and agency compliance.

To qualify, you must clearly demonstrate:
- Completion of an associate core program in instructional design, adult learning, education, instructional technology, or a related field.
- Or 18 months of experience preparing and delivering informational and instructional programs for adults using an instructional design model and doing and analyzing performance needs assessments.
- Or equivalent of the minimum class qualifications noted above.

Major Worker Characteristics:
- Knowledge of adult learning principles; instructional design model; instructional strategies and methods; presentation and delivery methodology; agency training goals, practices, programs, objectives, regulations, policies, and procedures; supervisory principles and techniques; public speaking; desktop publishing; visual design principles; and public relations.
- Skill in critical thinking; interpersonal communication techniques; operation of personal computer, printer, and scanner, including commonly used software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook); operation of audiovisual equipment for presentations (e.g., multimedia projector, laptop computer).
- Ability to manage an instructional design project; conduct and analyze performance and training needs assessments; develop performance objectives and tests for instructional design; utilize an instructional design model to create effective instruction; select appropriate instructional techniques, methods, and media for each instructional situation; evaluate and assess learning and measure job performance of learners; communicate effectively with correct grammar and usage; edit and revise communications to be clear, concise, and grammatically correct;
work collaboratively with and interview people from all levels of the organization; apply systems thinking to performance needs assessment and instructional design; deliver instruction effectively to any size group or individuals; facilitate groups (e.g., classes, meetings, interviews with experts); manage learning environments to increase opportunities for learner success; control individual learning problems; use effective questioning skills and techniques; use appropriate feedback techniques with learners, subject matter experts, and others;
provide positive reinforcement and motivational incentives to learners; use active listening skills when interviewing and/or teaching.
