Responsibilities

Serves as an unclassified employee pursuant to Section 124.11 (A) (9) O.R.C. and performs the following duties:

  • Supports schools and districts in developing and maintaining budgets for federal and state grants aligned with district improvement plans;
  • Manages district and school budgets related to school improvement funds within the One Funding Application;
  • Provides regular and relevant technical assistance and support to districts and schools via email, phone calls, and meetings (virtual and in-person);
  • Coordinates the required expectations of the grant with the competitive grant developers;
  • Evaluates implementation efforts of programs and recommends improvements:
    • Establishes data collection and reporting process for the grant awardees;
    • Analyzes data to provide improvement recommendations to internal and external entities;
  • Develops and implements policy related to school improvement grant funding;
  • Conducts trainings for district and school-based personnel related to policies, procedures, best practices, curriculum and data reporting;
  • Facilitates peer-to-peer network collaborative learning opportunities for school improvement grant recipients;
  • Collaborates with DEW offices engaged in collaborative monitoring (plan implementation and grant spending) process including, Federal Programs, Integrated Student Support, and Community Schools;

    Working Conditions:

    Requires travel throughout State of Ohio and may require overnight stay. Must be willing and able to secure a valid Driver’s License or supply your own transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate degree (e.g., business administration, public administration, political science, education or related field), and 3 years of experience performing any combination of the following:

  • Managing contracts or grantsin an educational setting
  • Facilitating or managing work groups across multiple department levels
