Role Summary
Researchers and scholars are invited to apply for tenure‑track faculty positions in the Department of Neuroscience at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center. Positions are available at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Successful candidates will join a rapidly growing research community focused on neural plasticity, neuroimmunology, neurodegeneration, epilepsy, and behavior.
Qualifications- Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field of neuroscience or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years postdoctoral experience with a strong record of scholarly activity.
- For Associate or Full Professors, nationally or internationally recognized scholars with sustained, externally funded research programs.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: aging, interoception, brain‑gut interactions, gene therapy/ editing, in‑vivo brain circuit mapping, connectomics, neuroengineering (brain‑computer interface, neuromodulation), whole‑brain imaging, computational neuroscience, big data modeling, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
- Conduct independent, world‑class research in basic or translational neuroscience.
- Secure external funding through grant proposals and manage research projects.
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses, develop curriculum, and mentor students.
- Serve the department, college, and university through scholarly service, committee participation, and outreach activities.
- Clinical faculty (if applicable) will provide exemplary clinical care, and may also teach and conduct research.
The search will remain open until all positions are filled. Formal review will begin October 17, 2025. To be considered, applicants must submit a cover letter stating the desired rank, a research statement (up to 3 pages) outlining past accomplishments and future plans, an updated curriculum vitae, and a list of three references.
