This position is located in Fayette County, Ohio.

The Ohio State University Extension Educator will work collaboratively with county, center, area and state teams of OSU Extension professionals and with local agency leaders and volunteers to provide leadership for Community Development programming targeted to local and area needs. Responsibilities include providing guidance and/or leadership for Economic Development, Business Retention and Expansion, Leadership Development, Community Planning and Improvement, and Organizational Development (i.e., Community Development) programming targeted to local and regional needs;

utilizing appropriate methods, both formal and informal, of community assessment to identify educational needs and opportunities of the local community; designing, implementing, and teaching educational programming to groups and individuals comprised of adults and/or youth; convening and facilitating community coalitions focused on those needs; replicating and adhering to existing programs that meet the needs of the local community; developing promotional materials and leading committees and volunteers;

establishing and maintaining partnerships within the community that support program goals; evaluating educational programs and dissemination methods and utilizing existing evaluation instruments to evaluate teaching effectiveness, program quality, and results; and participating in discussions with county representatives concerning program funding, potentially responsible for securing external funds to support local programming.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.

• Extension Educator 1 – $42,100 to $55,000 (Requires a Bachelor’s Degree)
• Extension Educator 2 – $47,700 to $62,300 (Requires a Master’s Degree)
• Extension Educator 3 – $55,700 to $72,700 (Requires a Master’s Degree and 11+ years of direct or related work experience)

The offer for this position will fall within these ranges based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
