Job Purpose
The Youth Build Grant Director is responsible for the overall administration, compliance, fiscal oversight, recruitment, enrollment, and effective implementation of the Department of Labor Youth Build grant. The grant was written on behalf of the school’s Board of Directors/School Board; therefore, this position is responsible for ensuring that grant operations are implemented in alignment with Board expectations, approved grant requirements, Department of Labor Youth Build requirements, budgetary guidelines, and established performance indicators.
Because Oakmont Education has been engaged by the Board to manage the school, the Youth Build Grant Director is also responsible for ensuring that Youth Build grant operations are fully integrated with school operations. This includes close coordination with the school leadership team and Oakmont Education leadership to ensure that program implementation, compliance, staffing, recruitment, enrollment, participant supports, reporting, fiscal oversight, and performance outcomes operate seamlessly within the broader school model.
DutiesAnd Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary administrator responsible for the effective implementation of the Youth Build grant on behalf of the school’s Board of Directors/School Board.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Department of Labor Youth Build grant regulations, approved grant activities, organizational policies, participant eligibility requirements, documentation standards, reporting expectations, and performance indicators.
- Direct and manage the Youth Build program within established budgetary guidelines, ensuring that grant funds, staffing, contractors, supportive services, training resources, and program activities are used effectively, responsibly, and in accordance with grant requirements.
- Monitor grant spending, staffing costs, contractor costs, participant supports, training costs, and other program expenses to ensure the program remains within the approved budget.
- Ensure that no substantial changes to the approved grant design, scope of work, program services, contractor structure, budget, or performance strategy are implemented without appropriate review, approval, and documentation consistent with Department of Labor Youth Build grant requirements.
- If any substantial programmatic, operational, staffing, contractor, service‑delivery, or budgetary changes or deviations from the approved grant application are required, the Youth Build Grant Director must, in a timely manner, submit Statement of Work modification requests and/or budget modification requests.
- Coordinate closely with the school leadership team and Oakmont Education leadership to ensure Youth Build grant operations are integrated with school operations, student supports, staffing structures, academic programming, workforce development activities, compliance systems, recruitment efforts, enrollment processes, and performance goals.
- Lead and monitor participant recruitment, outreach, eligibility screening, enrollment, and onboarding activities to ensure the program meets approved enrollment targets and maintains a strong participant pipeline.
- Ensure that recruitment and marketing activities accurately represent the Youth Build program, comply with grant expectations, align with the school’s mission and branding, and are coordinated with school leadership and Oakmont Education leadership.
- Ensure that all participant enrollment documentation, eligibility records, intake materials, assessment records, service plans, attendance documentation, progress records, supportive service documentation, placement records, follow‑up records, and other required paperwork meet Department of Labor Youth Build grant requirements.
- Ensure program operations support participants in earning a high school diploma, gaining workforce readiness skills, earning industry‑recognized credentials, preparing for postsecondary education or training, and entering employment, apprenticeship programs, or other quality career pathways.
