Printmaking Artist-in-Residence

The Department of Art, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Printmaking Artist-in-Residence to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College values diversity and offers a supportive, open, and inclusive community.

The Printmaking facility is a shared resource for all students in the Department of Art at The Ohio State University. Located on the second floor of Hopkins Hall, our state-of-the-art facilities comprise a diverse range of spaces. Facilities include equipment for intaglio, relief, letterpress, screen printing, risography, and lithography. Designed to cater to the needs of actively enrolled Art students, as well as faculty conducting cutting-edge research, our studios serve as collaborative work spaces that encourage creativity and exploration.

The Printmaking Artist-in-Residence will primarily work in the intaglio and lithography areas of the printmaking studio, and the position is designed to support both the artist's practice and the printmaking program's curricular goals. During the residency, the Printmaking Artist-in-Residence will establish a studio practice to create their own body of work using the OSU Printmaking facilities; engage with students by delivering artist talks and workshops for students during AY26-27;

research and experiment with a focus on eco-friendly approaches to intaglio and lithography, testing sustainable methods and alternatives; and document processes explored in the studio so that these materials can be used as a resource for future students.

While eco-friendly methods are strongly encouraged, there may be flexibility depending on the final candidate's practice.

This position is a part-time, nine-month temporary position. August 15 2026 – May 15, 2027.
