The Ohio State University Extension seeks an Educator to work collaboratively with county, area and state teams of OSUE professionals and with local agency leaders and volunteers. The Educator will be responsible for a broad range of basic to complex duties that could include but are not limited to: providing guidance and/or leadership for 4-H Youth Development programming targeted to local and area needs;
utilizing both formal and informal community assessment methods to identify educational needs and opportunities of the local community; designing, implementing and teaching educational programming based on those needs to groups and individuals comprised of adults, adult volunteers and youth; convening and facilitating community coalitions focused on those needs; replicating and adhering to existing programs that meet the needs of the community;
developing promotional material; working with and/or leading committees and volunteers; establishing and maintaining partnerships within the community that support the achievement of the goals of the 4-H Youth Development Program; evaluating educational programs and dissemination methods; and utilizing existing evaluation instruments to evaluate teaching effectiveness, program quality and results of local programs.
Participation in discussions with county representatives concerning program funding and responsibility for management of the program and/or county budget, securing external funds to support local programming and office operations, and participation as a member of county, multi-county, and/or state Extension teams to further the overall mission, vision and values of both Ohio State University Extension and 4-H Youth Development.
Qualifications- Extension Educator 1:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree. Salary range: $42,100 – $55,000. - Extension Educator 2:
Requires a Master's Degree. Salary range: $47,700 – $62,300. - Extension Educator 3:
Requires a Master's Degree and 11+ years of direct or related work experience. Salary range: $55,700 – $72,700. - Offer will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
