Extension Educators Coordinator, FCS/ANR – Miami County
Department: FAES | Dayton Adventure Central
Location:
Troy, OH
Schedule:
40 hours per week, first shift, regular position
- Collaborate with the Miami County Family and Consumer Sciences Educator to design, implement, and evaluate adult financial literacy programs.
- Support behavior change among program participants through motivational techniques and interactive teaching methods.
- Facilitate engaging and informative courses to empower participants with financial management skills.
- Serve as a HUD‑approved Homebuyer Education counselor, attaining certification within six months of hire.
- Adapt program content to meet the needs of diverse audiences with varying life‑skills levels.
- Develop and nurture strong community partnerships to offer adult life‑skill and financial programs.
- Work under the guidance of the Agriculture and Natural Resource Educator to plan, conduct, and administer the Master Gardener Volunteer Program.
- Ensure effective training, utilization, and involvement of Master Gardeners Volunteers, including certification and ongoing participation.
- Identify and disseminate volunteer opportunities, promote the program through events, social media, newsletters, and the county website.
- Maintain records, coordinate logistics for events and activities, and collaborate with extension professionals, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community groups.
- Engage in professional development activities to stay current with related scope of work.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification or vocational training may be required; an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- 2 years of relevant experience required; 4–6 years preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and instructional skills.
- Ability to adapt content for diverse audiences.
Salary range: $16.65–$21.77 per hour, based on internal equity and available budget.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical examination may be required during the post‑offer process.
