Columbus Humanities Arts & Technology Academy (CHATA) is an award‑winning public charter school serving K‑8 students in North Columbus. As part of ACCEL Schools, CHATA offers a humanities and arts–focused curriculum and celebrates a global learning community of 40 ethnicities.

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Reading Teacher to inspire and support students of all backgrounds. The role involves preparing and delivering lesson plans, differentiating instruction, and fostering a positive classroom environment that promotes student learning and social‑emotional development.

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans and modify them as needed during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and development.
• Use research‑based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom and implement school‑wide culture expectations.
• Create a welcoming classroom atmosphere and a positive learning environment.
• Utilize curricula that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
• Communicate with families regarding academic and social‑emotional growth.
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice.
• Participate in planning and implementation of non‑instructional activities as needed.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Active and current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to properly manage confidential information.
• Capable of supervising students of various ages in diverse settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.).
• Passable federal and state criminal background check.
• Experience working within an urban environment.

Salary $48,000 – $57,500, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
