This building substitute position is an ideal opportunity for new teachers to develop their skills and, after one year, building substitutes will receive first consideration for open teaching positions.

• Classroom Management:
• Create a positive educational climate for students
• Implement a positive behavior reward system
• Follow all PPA policies to help ensure uniformity of the program
• Professional Development:
• Observe and collaborate with other teachers in the building multiple times throughout the year for mutual growth and development in accordance with the peer observation program
• Attend professional development opportunities throughout the school year or summer for continuous improvement
• Reflect and evaluate lessons, policies, and practices often
• Additional Items:
• Build a relationship with students and parents so that they know you want only the best for the student
• Maintain a strong collaborative relationship with teachers, instructional support staff, and others
• Be supportive of the PPA team at all times, especially when speaking to parents and students
