Recruiting for teacher position at Flex High School in Reynoldsburg (723) – Columbus, OH 43213. Position Type:
Regular Full‑Time, Day Shift (Monday‑Friday, 8:30AM–3:30PM). Category:
Certified. The position is funded through the Title1 Grant. Compensation:
Competitive package starting at $47,840 per year.

How You Will Make an Impact

Teachers work in a personalized instructional environment, collaborating with students and parents to plan and assess student progress. The role reports to the Principal or designee.

Responsibilities
  • Teach using the approved curriculum and assign individualized course of study.
  • Administer assessments to new students in Language, Mathematics, and Reading within the first month.
  • Monitor and administer testing upon completion of English and Mathematics courses.
  • Participate in state and school‑mandated testing.
  • Review and evaluate homework, monitor credit completion, and give test scores.
  • Refer students to core‑subject teachers when necessary.
  • Document student progress and attendance in the Student Information System.
  • Conduct close‑out procedures for student folders at the end of the learning period or when students drop, withdraw, or graduate.
  • Collaborate with Student Relations staff on folder changes and corrections.
  • Maintain accurate record‑keeping per Ohio Department of Education and audit requirements.
  • Be available to students and parents during appointments; call students who miss appointments.
  • Assist students in finding resources, labs, tutoring, or counseling when appropriate.
  • Discipline students as appropriate; keep all work neat and organized.
  • Meet Ohio Professional Teaching Standards.
  • Complete yearly academic plans aligned with state standards.
  • Compile report cards after each semester or when students drop, withdraw, or graduate.
  • Participate in developing new curriculum as assigned by leadership.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development, graduation ceremonies, and other school events.
  • Follow attendance policies and any other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Ohio Teaching Standards and the school's culture, business units, and services.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends, research, and technology to support learning.
  • Knowledge of research‑based instructional strategies for all populations, including at‑risk students.
  • Knowledge of a variety of educational programs.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community representatives.
  • Ability to engage all racial, ethnic, linguistic, disability, and socioeconomic groups.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear instructions, academic language, appropriate delivery level, and unbiased feedback.
  • Judgement, deadline management, and accurate record retention.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer‑service orientation.

Minimum Qualifications: Valid teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education; teaching experience; proficiency in Student Information System applications.

Physical Requirements
  • Mental demands: high workflow management, high project coordination, high people engagement.
  • Finger dexterity: using primarily the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
  • Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Average hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Average visual abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.
  • Frequent multitasking, changing task priorities, repetitive exacting work required.
  • Working in a low to moderate noise environment, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures.
