Semester Lecturer - WGSS

The Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies seeks a Semester Lecturer to teach one to two courses during the Autumn 2026 semester. In addition to teaching, the Semester Lecturer will prepare syllabi and course materials for assigned courses, hold office hours, grade assignments, submit grades by established deadlines, and communicate regularly with students.

Performance Objectives

  • Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning.
  • Meet scheduled classes and office hours in accordance with university policy.
  • Ensure curriculum implementation and course preparation in accordance with department standards.
  • Prepare homework and exams, evaluate student work, and return graded assignments in a timely manner to promote learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and submit the final grade roster in accordance with established university deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Master's degree in Women's, Gender, or Sexuality Studies, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
  • Teaching experience in North America.

Desired:

  • PhD in Women's, Gender, or Sexuality Studies, or a closely related field
