Overview
The Administrator of the Office of Adult Workforce Pathways provides statewide leadership, policy development, and program oversight for adult education initiatives, including adult diploma and equivalency programs, high school equivalency credentials, and adult workforce‑aligned education services. The Administrator ensures programs align with state and federal law, industry workforce needs, and Ohio’s strategic vision for preparing all learners for postsecondary success and meaningful employment.
Responsibilities- Ensures implementation of Ohio’s workforce priorities.
- Develops and implements policies supporting state and federal legislation (e.g., Adult Workforce Diploma Program, AEFLA, WIOA).
- Ensures that adults without a high school diploma have the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency diploma or high school diploma.
- Leads statewide efforts to expand and ensure equitable access to adult education programs and pathways, focusing on continuously improving outcomes for adult learners across Ohio.
- Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Integrated Education and Training (IET), Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE), and other adult career pathway models to strengthen alignment with workforce needs and promote meaningful advancement opportunities for adult learners.
- Provides strategic leadership and oversight for state and federal adult education grant administration, ensuring compliance, accountability, and effective management of grant‑funded programs while supporting and guiding the team responsible for day‑to‑day grant operations.
- Develops, evaluates, and refines policies and procedures to support high‑quality implementation.
- Studies the impact of adult education policies and initiatives and identifies best practices for continuous improvement.
- Promotes high‑quality adult education (e.g., how students are trained, service delivery, professional development of staff).
- Gathers feedback from the field and refines processes based on feedback to support adult education.
- Assists executive leadership in formulating policy and procedures for the office.
- Collaborates with the current structure of the agency to provide excellent customer support.
- Leads staff in ensuring goals are met, services are rendered, and technical assistance is provided.
- Ensures procedures are within federal and state regulations.
- Assists with the review and recommendation of legislation pertaining to adult education at the state and national level.
- Identifies and delivers professional development to support continuous growth of both staff and leadership.
- Provides leadership, direction, and supervision of professional staff, including assignment of work, evaluation, leave approval, and development of professional growth opportunities.
- Oversees office operations, staffing, and budget to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Monitors fiscal resources to ensure alignment with state and federal guidelines.
- Creates an environment that supports personal and professional growth and high‑quality customer service.
- Serves as an agency representative on state policy boards and inter‑agency initiatives.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with employers, workforce development agencies, higher education institutions, Ohio Technical Centers, and other key organizations.
- Oversees presentations, trainings, and communication materials for stakeholders.
- Coordinates statewide stakeholder engagement, including public speaking and outreach activities.
- Completion of a Master’s degree.
- 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Proven field experience with adult or workforce programming.
- Vast knowledge of and experience working with adult learners.
- Experience developing and implementing policy.
- Master’s degree (e.g., Education, Education Administration & Supervision, Educational Policy and Leadership, Adult/Workforce Education).
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex roles and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team‑building skills.
- Systems thinker with creativity and strong problem‑solving skills.
Up to $68.36.
