Position Summary

Franklin University, a private, independent, accredited, not-for-profit university located in Columbus, Ohio, invites applicants for its Adjunct Faculty – Computer Science positions. The role’s primary responsibility is providing quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment with an emphasis on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students.

Courses
  • COMP 620:
    Analysis of Algorithms
  • COMP 691:
    Capstone for Master's in Computer Science
  • AI 603: AI Programming
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the discipline.
  • Maintain attendance records and determine and submit grades within established university time frames.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
  • Support the resolution of student issues related to course instruction.
  • Provide feedback on what is working and not working with the course.
  • Participate in all department meetings and required training.
  • Engage in personal professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Faculty.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computing Engineering, Software Engineering, AI, or a closely related field.
  • Commitment to collaborative and collegiate relationships.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of higher education regulations, compliance, and accrediting agencies.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and members of the professional community.
  • Excellent multi‑tasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Characteristics
  • Previous teaching experience.
