Overview
Location: Hamilton Elementary; 745 Rathmell Road, Columbus, OH 43207, United States
Salary: $15.00 per hour with additional compensation based on experience
Part-Time — up to 27 hours per week

- Supervising a group of elementary aged students
- Implementing program activities
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with students, families, YMCA colleagues and school personnel
- Maintaining licensing rules/standards, keeping written student records, and collecting data and providing reports as necessary
Ensures that program participants receive academic tutoring based on their individual needs to improve their academic performance in reading, math, virtual assignments, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements- HS diploma
- Experience with elementary aged students preferred
- Available to work between 7:00 a.m.– 9:00 a.m. and/or 3:00 p.m.– 6:00 p.m.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have experience teaching or tutoring school-age children in an academic setting
- BA or BS degree from an accredited college in Education or a related field, teacher certification preferred OR a B.S. or B.A. from an accredited college and/or meets substitute qualifications to be a public school district substitute, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Passionate belief in the Y’s mission of nurturing potential, healthy living, and supporting neighbors
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others
- Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations
- Must submit all required paperwork for ODJFS licensing and a staff medical statement as required by ODJFS; must obtain and keep current training certifications in first aid, communicable diseases, and child abuse recognition & prevention as required by ODJFS; must attend all necessary YMCA, child care and/or grant related training
