Job Description

Part‑time position.
State Support Team – Region 11 seeks a team member who will train and coach district personnel toward effective special education service delivery, including inclusive instructional practices, multi‑tiered systems of support, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities include supporting districts and schools in meeting state and federal requirements, facilitating comprehensive needs assessments and planning (Ohio’s One Needs Assessment and One Plan), and providing implementation support and monitoring.

Primary Duties
  • Provide professional development, coaching, and technical assistance on evidence‑based instructional strategies, special education service delivery models, specially designed instruction, disproportionality, and closing achievement gaps.
  • Support implementation of multi‑tiered systems of support.
  • Assist with IDEA implementation (ETR, IEP, internal monitoring, indicator review).
  • Collect and document evidence of implementation and impact.
  • Assist in documenting work of the State Support Team and analyze district/regional data.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education, special education, early childhood education, education administration, or related field.
  • Three to five years of successful classroom teaching, instructional improvement planning, special education administration, or related experience with appropriate license.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and ESSA provisions, improvement planning, monitoring, and professional learning.
  • Leadership experience in at least some of: specially designed instruction, data‑based decision making, evidence‑based practices, Ohio Integrated Multi‑tiered System of Support, IDEA compliance, coaching, and professional learning.
  • Valid Ohio teaching or administrative license.
  • Experience as a district or building administrator.
  • Experience developing and providing professional development for adult learners.
Performance Expectations
  • Integrate special education work within One Needs Assessment, One Plan, and Service Delivery Agreement.
  • Ensure completion of IDEA monitoring and dispute resolution actions.
  • Analyze data to compare test scores, evaluations, and achievement.
  • Provide professional learning and technical assistance.
  • Interpret and enforce state education laws and regulations.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend curricula and instructional materials.
  • Develop instructional materials for educators.
  • Use a computer for information processing tasks.
  • Assist districts, schools, and families with questions.
  • Uphold board policies and administrative guidelines.
  • Advise teaching and administrative staff.
  • Participate in committee assignments or special projects.
  • Stay current on research, programs, data trends, and regulations.
  • Maintain office technology skills.
  • Cross‑train with other staff and assist as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional growth opportunities.
  • Provide technical assistance to families and district personnel to address potential issues.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent, SST Director, or other authorities.

Salary schedule placement commensurate with experience and training.
