Position Title:
Full Time Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher Assistant/Support Staff
The Columbus Torah Teacher Assistant/Support Staff for the 2026-27 academic year. Columbus Torah Academy, an independent K-12 Jewish day school accredited by ISACS, is located on the east side of Columbus on a private campus.
The open position is for a full-time teacher assistant/support staff. Columbus Torah Academy is an independent college preparatory school with approximately 140 students in the lower school (grades K-5). Our classes are small, and our teacher assistants enjoy getting to know their students well.
ResponsibilitiesThe Teacher Assistant/Teacher Support staff’s primary duties will be to:
- Support high quality instruction in classroom
- Support with overall classroom management
- Support small group instruction in multiple subjects
- Collect academic/behavioral data for classroom teacher
- Work collaboratively with the lead teachers
- Help to support hands on learning activities to students with high levels of student engagement
- Supervise lunch and recess duties
- Support arrival and departure of students
- At times, be able to substitute for a teacher that is absent
- Bachelor of Arts degree
- Preferred Teacher Assistant license
- Preferred Teacher Substitute license or ability to obtain that license
- 2-5 years experience working with children in Kindergarten-5th grade.
