It operates two high-performing elementary schools (K-5) and two high-performing middle schools (6-8) serving more than 900 students. The mission is to transform lives and communities through education and to provide a rigorous academic experience in a joyful learning environment.
Responsibilities- Instruct students and evaluate their progress in physical education, inclusive of physical activity and overall health.
- Collaborate with grade‑level teams to develop special events, assemblies, and maintain grade‑level culture.
- Provide classroom support and communicate with families about upcoming lessons and events.
- Build relationships with students during lunch and/or recess, and cover classes as needed.
- Implement frequent feedback with colleagues and school leaders to grow as an educator.
- Design rigorous, aligned curriculum that supports the needs of all learners.
- Holds a B.A./B.S. degree and ability to secure the appropriate teaching license.
- Prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities (preferred).
- Committed to using data‑driven instructional practices and techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0.
- Relentless in writing, refining, and internalizing curriculum, lessons, and assessments.
- Open and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team members.
- Effective communication with students, families, and colleagues.
- Comfortable with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities.
This is a full‑time position beginning July 27, 2026. Report times are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., with some job‑related tasks outside these hours.
Salary and BenefitsStarting salary for a new Physical Education Teacher with a Bachelor’s degree is $49,000. Salary for other applicants depends on experience and education level.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) or the School Employees Retirement System of Ohio (SERS).
