Lecturer – Division of Biostatistics

Position Overview

The Division of Biostatistics is accepting applications for a part‑time Lecturer to teach the graduate course "PUBHBIO 7215, Design and Analysis of Clinical Trials" during the Autumn 2026 semester (8/25/2026 – 12/9/2026). The course is primarily online with one hour of synchronous meeting time per week (Tuesdays, 11:45am–12:40pm Eastern). It covers protocol development, randomization schemes, sample‑size methods, and ethical issues and employs class exercises and assignments to facilitate learning.

Responsibilities

& Performance Objectives
  • Present course material and guide students through assignments.
  • Create an engaging online and in‑person classroom environment.
  • Hold office hours to support student learning.
  • Grade assignments and provide timely feedback.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health, or a closely related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in public health or an industry setting.
  • Availability to teach similar or identical courses in subsequent years.
Compensation

Payment of $6,000 for the semester.
