The Department of Operations and Business Analytics at the Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in Operations Management.

We seek candidates who are committed to developing a leading research program in Operations Management and who have the potential to become internationally recognized scholars in the field. We welcome applicants who pursue phenomenon-driven, problem-centered research that rigorously addresses important real-world operations management challenges. Candidates who employ multiple methodological approaches to data collection and analysis and investigate important operations management questions (e.g., operational excellence, supply chain management, service operations, sustainability, project management, etc.)

are encouraged to apply. The primacy of empirical methods in a candidate’s methodological portfolio will afford preference in the selection process.

The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s research excellence and teaching mission through high-quality scholarship, impactful teaching, and active engagement with students and faculty colleagues.

Performance Objectives:

  • Develop and maintain a high-quality, high-impact research agenda in the field of Operations Management. As an assistant professor, a key criterion for this is publications in top-tier academic journals.
  • Effectively teach a core Operations Management course and related courses across undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, specialized master’s, and Ph.D. programs.
  • Effectively collaborate with faculty colleagues in research, curriculum development, departmental, and college initiatives, as requested.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Candidates are required to hold or be near completion of an earned doctorate in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field by the start date of employment.
  • Evidence of a strong research trajectory, including current working papers and/or published research in Operations Management (including domains such as Supply Chain Management, Service Operations, Project Management, etc.).
  • Potential for excellence in scholarly research and publication.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills and/or success in classroom teaching.
