A highly effective, student-centered Instructional Coach to support the continuous improvement of teaching and learning across all grade levels and content areas (K-8). The Instructional Coach serves as a non-evaluative instructional leader who works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and intervention staff to strengthen instructional practices, improve student achievement, and support implementation of school-wide academic initiatives.

The Instructional Coach plays a critical role in supporting data-driven instruction, facilitating Teacher-Based Teams (TBTs), coordinating state and local assessments, supporting the MTSS process, conducting classroom walkthroughs, analyzing student achievement data, and providing individualized coaching to teachers. The position is designed to build teacher capacity, increase instructional effectiveness, and ensure all students receive high-quality, standards-aligned instruction.

The Instructional Coach will support the school's improvement efforts as A+ Arts Academy continues its work to improve academic outcomes, strengthen instructional systems, and accelerate student achievement.

Essential Responsibilities Instructional Coaching and Professional Support
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to teachers in all grade levels and content areas.
  • Model effective instructional strategies and research-based teaching practices.
  • Conduct coaching cycles that include pre-conferences, classroom observations, feedback sessions, and follow-up support.
  • Support teachers in planning rigorous, standards-aligned instruction.
  • Assist teachers in implementing differentiated instructional practices to meet diverse student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to improve classroom management and student engagement strategies.
  • Support implementation of Ohio Learning Standards and school curriculum resources.
  • Facilitate professional learning opportunities aligned to school improvement goals.
  • Assist teachers in analyzing student work and adjusting instructional practices accordingly.
  • Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with staff while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Teacher-Based Team (TBT) Leadership
  • Serve as the primary facilitator and coordinator of Teacher-Based Team (TBT) meetings.
  • Develop meeting agendas aligned to school improvement priorities and student achievement goals.
  • Guide staff through Ohio's TBT process and continuous improvement cycle.
  • Support teachers in identifying instructional strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate collaborative discussions focused on student learning outcomes.
  • Ensure TBT meetings remain data-driven and action-oriented.
  • Maintain documentation of meeting notes, action steps, and follow-up activities.
  • Monitor implementation of instructional strategies identified during TBT meetings.
Data Analysis and Instructional Planning
  • Lead school-wide data analysis efforts.
  • Support teachers in collecting, organizing, and interpreting student achievement data.
  • Assist staff in identifying trends, gaps, and instructional priorities.
  • Develop data reports and presentations for administration and staff.
  • Facilitate discussions regarding benchmark assessments, state assessments, diagnostic data, and classroom assessments.
  • Monitor student growth and achievement across grade levels and subgroups.
  • Collaborate with administration to establish measurable academic goals.
  • Support staff in developing instructional responses based on student performance data.
MTSS Support
  • Serve as an active participant in the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process.
  • Support teachers in implementing Tier I instructional interventions.
  • Assist with the review of intervention effectiveness and student progress monitoring data.
  • Participate in MTSS meetings and provide instructional recommendations based on student performance data.
  • Collaborate with intervention specialists, special education staff, and administrators to support struggling learners.
  • Assist teachers in selecting evidence-based instructional interventions.
  • Support implementation of academic intervention plans and instructional supports.
  • Monitor fidelity of instructional interventions and classroom supports.
