Job Objectives:
Assistpartner school districts with the delivery of special education programs and services. Develop, promote, supervise, and evaluate programs/services to meet the needs of students with disabilities and positively impact student achievement.
Responsibilities and
Essential Functions:

Work collaboratively with district administrators, educational staff, parents, and community partners to coordinate, provide, and continuously improve special education programs.
Provide staff with leadership, help resolve problems that negatively impact student achievement and/or student/staff safety, and work to resolve staff conflicts.
Collaborate with educational teams to modify the curriculum as necessary and to assist with research-based and evidence-based interventions to address the academic, adaptive, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
Plan, organize, and conduct comprehensive professional development opportunities and participate in professional growth opportunities.
Ensure paperwork is accurate, all timelines and deadlines are met (annual reviews, progress reports, etc.), and assist with the collection of student and staff data for educational management information (EMIS) reporting and deadlines.
Comply with Federal and state laws, model policies and procedures, rules, and regulations for the education of students with disabilities. Ensure paperwork is accurate, all timelines and deadlines are met (annual reviews, progress reports, etc.), maintain confidentiality, strictly adhere to HIPAA and FERPA, respect personal privacy, and maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
Assist in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, and evaluation of staff.
Coordinate and monitor programs/services to ensure compliance with Federal and state law, state learning standards/extended standards, monitor graduation requirements, and oversee state and local testing requirements.
Partner with school districts to coordinate the transition process for students entering or leaving the program, participate in parent meetings, and serve as district representative when directed.
Incorporate and promote instructional, assistive, and other types of technology; and uphold the acceptable use policy.
Serve as a role model in upholding high ethical and professional standards (e.g., Complies with Governing Board Policy/Administrative Guidelines, district, state, and Federal regulations, maintains satisfactory attendance and punctuality, accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct, promotes a favorable image of the Agency, etc.).
Adapt to unique circumstances and factors such as travel, extended hours, student behavior, lifting/transferring students, interactions with aggressive/disruptive individuals, etc.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
