The Support Center Elementary Teacher-Tier 2 provides intensive social-emotional, behavioral, and restorative supports to elementary students assigned to the online Tier 2 program. This position creates a structured, relationship-centered virtual learning environment that equips students with the social emotional competencies, self-regulation strategies, and behavioral skills necessary for a successful transition back to their home school. The teacher collaborates with families, school staff, and district partners to develop individualized supports while using data to monitor student progress and promote positive outcomes.
EssentialDuties
- Facilitate daily virtual instruction focused on social-emotional learning, restorative practices, executive functioning, and behavioral skill development. Build strong, trusting relationships with students through consistent engagement, coaching, and individualized support.
- Develop and implement individualized behavioral support plans aligned to MTSS and Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks.
- Teach and reinforce self-regulation, emotional awareness, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and responsible decision-making using evidence-based SEL practices.
- Utilize restorative practices to help students repair relationships, reflect on behavior, and prepare for successful reintegration into their school community.
- Monitor student progress through behavioral, engagement, attendance, and SEL data to inform instructional and intervention decisions.
- Collaborate with families, counselors, social workers, administrators, and sending schools to coordinate student supports and transition planning.
- Establish a positive and engaging online classroom culture that promotes belonging, accountability, and student voice.
- Effectively manage a dynamic virtual classroom in which student enrollment changes frequently throughout the school year.
- Support students and families in navigating online learning platforms and provide basic technology troubleshooting when needed.
- Maintain timely documentation of student progress, interventions, and communication.
- Participate in multidisciplinary problem-solving teams, professional learning, and district initiatives.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
A valid Ohio teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, with the appropriate grade-level licensure, subject-area certification, and/or endorsements required for the assignment.
Required ExperienceOne (1) year of experience supporting students with behavioral, social-emotional, or mental health needs, which includes facilitating instruction in a virtual or technology-rich learning environment.
Prefered Experience- Experience working with elementary-aged students.
