The Ohio State University (OSU) Department of Surgery is recruiting a nationally recognized basic scientist to join the Pancreatic Cancer Program. This individual should have an established record of research as evidenced by publications and an active research program. The position is being recruited at the Associate Professor or Professor level.

OSU Pancreatic Cancer Program consists of a cohesive multi-disciplinary team with active investigation in immunology, cachexia, obesity, cell signaling, and experimental therapeutics. The program has developed a longitudinal, comprehensive, and clinically annotated biorepository including blood and tissue samples, as well as a high‑risk screening clinic. An active collaboration with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and surgeons supports high‑volume clinical trials, including phase I therapeutic development.

• Conceptualize, plan, design, implement, and conduct research studies; develop and write grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding; obtain and maintain NIH R01 or equivalent funding.
• Write and publish research in high‑quality peer‑reviewed scientific journals; attend and present research at national and international scientific conferences; develop a national and international scholarly reputation.
• Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.

• PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field.
• Established record of research in pancreatic cancer.
• Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level; academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.

• Active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01).
