Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is seeking a dynamic, relationship-focused professional to lead programs that engage and develop the next generation of agricultural leaders across Ohio. This position will provide strategic leadership for our Young Agricultural Professionals (YAP) and Collegiate Farm Bureau programs while helping strengthen the leadership skills of volunteer leaders throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate is an energetic program leader who enjoys bringing people together, developing meaningful experiences, facilitating learning, and turning ideas into well-executed programs and events. This role offers the opportunity to work with young professionals, collegiate members, volunteers, agricultural organizations, sponsors, and leaders from across Ohio and nationally.
What You’ll DoLead the Young Agricultural Professionals Program- Serve as director of Ohio Farm Bureau’s statewide
Young Agricultural Professionals (YAP) program. - Provide leadership and support to the State YAP Committee, including member onboarding and offboarding, meeting planning, professional development, and participation in organization-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with the State YAP Committee to establish annual program objectives, goals, priorities, and budgets.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate two signature annual leadership programs:
- Washington, D.C. Leadership Experience
- Coordinate statewide YAP contests and prepare winners for participation at the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) level.
- Support Ohio members participating in theAFBF Annual ConventionandYF&R/FUSION Conference.
- Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to build participation and awareness of YAP programs and events.
- Assist in developing and maintaining program sponsor ships and partner relationships.
- Manage program revenues, expenses, and budgets.
- Serve as the YAP liaison to Ohio Farm Bureau field staff and coordinate local YAP grant opportunities.
- Implement and strengthen
Collegiate Farm Bureau programming across Ohio. - Develop and deliver training and resources for Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter officers.
- Plan and host the Collegiate Discussion Meet.
- Create meaningful connection points for4-H and FFA membersto engage with Ohio Farm Bureau, with an emphasis on building a pathway from youth involvement to collegiate participation and ultimately into YAP programming.
- Partner with Membership Department leadership to identify leadership development needs across the organization.
- Develop and maintain a robust portfolio of leadership development workshops, lesson plans, facilitation materials, and resources for volunteer leaders.
- Facilitate up to10 leadership development workshops annually.
- Create engaging learning experiences designed specifically for adult learners and non-formal educational environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum offive years of experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience inproject management, training, facilitation, or leadership development.
- A motivated self-starter who can move projects from concept through successful execution.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with teams toward common objectives.
