Community Development for All People (CD4AP) is a non‑profit organization dedicated to improving the economic, social, and spiritual quality of life for residents of Columbus' South Side. We work alongside our community to build programs that empower families, support youth, and build a stronger, more vibrant neighborhood.

Position Overview

CD4AP is seeking a mature, dynamic, and experienced Youth Development Coordinator to lead and impact the lives of children and families living on the South Side of Columbus in a unique and holistic way.

In this leadership role, you will oversee daily after-school program operations, supervise part-time staff and volunteers, coordinate hands‑on youth programming, and build strong relationships with local schools, parents, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities Program Development & Operations Curriculum & Activities

Develop and facilitate engaging youth programming, including S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Health & Wellness, Arts & Crafts, and F.A.N. (Fitness and Nutrition) Club.

School & Partner Alignment

Work directly with school administrators, principals, and teachers to align after‑school activities with regular school‑day learning, identify students, and lead outreach efforts.

Food Services

Oversee daily food service for the after‑school program through partnerships with the Children's Hunger Alliance and the Mid‑Ohio Food Bank.

Compliance & Records

Ensure program activities meet compliance standards, track student attendance, and maintain evaluation records to report on program impact.

Staff & Team Leadership Supervision

Supervise, coach, and mentor part‑time staff, interns, and volunteers.

Team Development

Partner with the Youth Development Director to establish program calendars, plan staff meetings, and lead professional development sessions.

Family & Community Engagement Parent Relations

Collaborate on parent engagement initiatives to build strong relationships with families, facilitate parent involvement in CD4AP services, and assist in delivering ongoing parent workshops and special events.

Stakeholder Communication

Maintain open, positive communication with school stakeholders, program partners, and the CD4AP team.

Work Schedule and Locations

This position splits time between CD4AP Offices at 946 Parsons Ave., and our designated program site at Lincoln Park Elementary School, 579

E. Markison Ave.

Hours:

School Year

Monday – Friday 9:30am-6:30pm with 1 hour lunch, 10:00am – 6:30pm with 30-minute lunch, or 10:30am-6:30pm with no lunch.

Summer Operations

Monday – Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Evening and Weekend

Some select hours as required (advance notice will be provided and flex time will apply)

Qualifications & Key Competencies Experience

Background in youth development, education, after‑school programming, or community outreach.

Leadership Skills

Proven experience managing, coaching, and supporting staff, interns, or volunteers.

Relationship Building

Demonstrated ability to connect and build trust with diverse stakeholders, including school administrators, parents, children, and community partners.

Organizational Skills

Strong ability to multi‑task, keep accurate records, and meet compliance standards.

Passion for Mission

A deep commitment to community development and serving children and families on the South Side of Columbus.
