Overview

Resource Innovations is seeking a Team Lead for an Energy Efficiency Field Team in Ohio to spearhead our Inflation Reduction Act Program field delivery. The Team Lead is responsible for building and leading a dynamic field service team dedicated to delivering high‑quality in‑home energy audits and ensuring quality control for our HOMES and HEAR programs. As the Team Lead you will manage customer‑focused technicians proficient in BPI standards and related certifications, while also conducting comprehensive in‑home energy audits with a focus on income‑based program participants and collaboration with contractor networks.

Your oversight extends to residential weatherization, HVAC, and water heating installation inspections, as you review QA/QC findings to ensure program integrity. Working with partners to identify and implement effective solutions based on audit findings and client feedback will be key to your success. Additionally, you will collaborate cross‑functionally with various teams to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Resource Innovations’ program solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises, coaches, and supports field technicians to ensure high‑quality installation and service.
  • Reviews and quality‑controls field technicians’ audits and ensures energy modeling requirements are met.
  • Assists the leadership team in recruiting and training BPI‑certified Energy Auditors to build a skilled team.
  • Manages verification processes across programs, ensuring assignment selection and documentation completion.
  • Conducts onsite inspections, creates inspection reports, and addresses any issues identified.
  • Implements energy audit protocols and QA/QC requirements to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

We are seeking mission‑driven and career‑minded clean energy professionals with proven experience in energy auditing, building science, or related fields, along with established relationships within housing, rebate/incentive programs, and community development. Strong leadership skills, a focus on team building and customer service, and knowledge of relevant standards and practices—particularly BPI certifications—are essential. Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities will set you apart.

  • BPI Certified.
  • Must reside in a metropolitan area of Ohio.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in energy efficiency, utility programs, quality assurance, consulting, HVAC, or facility maintenance.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Technical knowledge of building science, construction, energy‑using systems, lighting, and audit technologies.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Maintain current auto insurance coverage that meets state requirements.
  • Access to a personal vehicle for work‑related travel; ability to travel 25‑75% (limited overnight travel).
  • Interest in sustainability and passion for making a meaningful impact on the environment.

Benefits

Compensation: $75,000‑$85,000 base salary. Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. Other benefits include three weeks of paid vacation annually, paid holidays, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, medical, dental and vision coverage, parental leave, an employee assistance program, commuter benefits, and additional supplemental offerings.
