Role Summary

Guide project teams and mentor engineers while leading design efforts. You’ll ensure technical accuracy, drive quality, and help shape project outcomes. This position is ideal for those who thrive in leadership roles, enjoy mentoring others, and are ready to guide project execution while driving technical excellence and team development.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • 6‑10 years of experience in power utility design.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and line‑design software such as O‑Calc, SPIDA‑calc or DDS.
  • Experience designing electrical distribution physical structures, routing, equipment specifications and wiring.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret safety codes, utility standards and regulations (NESC, ACEC, IEEE).
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills with consistent attention to detail.
  • Team‑oriented and experienced in collaborating across disciplines to support project execution.
  • Clear and professional communicator capable of conveying technical information across teams and disciplines.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of distribution (600 V to 35 kV) systems using design software.
  • Implement client standards and applicable design codes and specifications.
  • Coordinate drawing development and CAD‑based design tasks.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  • Accountable for the quality of deliverables and support peer reviews to uphold team standards.
  • Engage with clients to clarify technical requirements and ensure alignment with expectations.
  • Execute project tasks independently within established scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Participate in occasional site walks for current projects (less than 5 % travel).
