The Product Support Engineer will advise on product design best practices encompassing regulatory code requirements for technical compliance, and introduce awareness and access to applicable industry standards. The focus is on electrical power, electronics, and digital/wireless communication devices. Duties include evaluation, interpretation, and advisement of codes and standards to cross‑functional roles for domestic and international regulations, providing technical product support and configuration change management during the post‑launch product life cycle, and reviewing and approving formal engineering change control and product markings.

The role also coordinates participation in relevant technical industry governing and standards bodies, proposing and advocating for regulatory and industry standards in the interests of the business.

The incumbent will possess strong electrical/electronics integration knowledge, communicate effectively across technical and commercial functions, and provide technical leadership. Comprehensive technical assessments, problem solving, and timely support to meet internal and external stakeholder expectations are essential. The role supports product engineering throughout new product development and the post‑launch lifecycle, identifying, proposing, and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.

• Review product designs/concepts and advise New Product Development (NPD) engineering teams on applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Review and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Artwork Change Requests (ACR) for appropriate product markings.
• Provide technical support to engineering, sales, marketing, and customer inquiries for post‑launch and in‑service products.
• Monitor and alert on regulatory code changes (domestic and international) and participate in relevant technical industry committees.
• Manage workload demand from incoming requests, establishing prioritization with internal stakeholders.

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with systems integration of structural/mechanical, electrical power, electronics, and embedded software for consumer devices.
• Minimum 7 years experience in related fields of electrical/electronic systems design/integration, with preferred experience in qualification of embedded software.
• Familiarity with applicable regulatory codes, including:
• US FCC 47 CFR 15, Radio Frequency Devices
• US FDA 21 CFR Subchapter J Part 1010, Performance Standards for Electronic Products;

• US FDA Laser Notice No. 56
• US DOE 10 CFR, Energy Conservation
• California Title 20 Appliance Efficiency Regulations
• Canadian ISED/ICES, General Requirements for Compliance of Interference Causing Equipment
• European RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU
• Product certification marking and listing services (UL listing, CE mark, ETL mark).
• Scan and provide interpretation of domestic and international regulatory codes and industry standards.
• Focus on continuous improvement for adaptive learning and process efficiency growth.
• Travel may vary up to 20%.
