Franklin International is currently looking for an Engineering Intern. The intern will assist engineering staff in applying established chemical engineering principles and problem solving practices, assisting with the optimization of existing processes and the introduction of new products and processes into the manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be able to work 40 hours a week during the summer (during regular business hours, Monday through Friday).
ResponsibilitiesYou’ll work with Franklin International’s water based adhesives and polymers Process Engineering group to:
- Generate, update, and/or optimize procedures for new and established processes
- Scale formulations and products to new equipment
- Collect and share production data
- Develop rework plans for non-conforming product
- Support modifications and re-loading of WIP and Packaging batch sheets
The targeted applicant is a current student majoring in Chemical Engineering or other relevant engineering field. Preferably someone who will be a junior or senior this fall, with co-op or internship experience that has completed their Major’s introductory courses as well as Organic Chemistry I (or higher). Applicant should have a 3.2 GPA or higher, 3.6 and above is preferred. Familiarity with applicable computer software (MS Excel, MS Word) is required.
