Lead an engineering team that partners with the Linux engineers of a major silicon company, working across the full Linux stack from kernel to GUI, to optimise Ubuntu, the world's most widely used Linux desktop and server, for the latest silicon.
This is a fast-paced, problem-solving role that is both challenging and exciting. The ideal candidate must be resourceful, articulate, and capable of delivering a variety of solutions across PC and IoT technologies. Our teams collaborate with engineers from major silicon companies to integrate new features and performance improvements for upcoming hardware.
As a Partner Engineering Manager at Canonical, your role involves managing relationships with key technology partners, ensuring the timely delivery of project milestones. Technical leadership and a background in software engineering are essential. You will lead, challenge, and develop engineers, influence company culture positively, facilitate technical delivery, and work on strategic planning with your team.
What you'll do- You have experience with Linux distributions, Debian packaging, and high-performance server hardware.
- You have worked directly with customers, resolving technical issues and aligning solutions with business needs.
- You have managed or led a team of software engineers.
- You understand agile software development methodologies.
- You collaborate effectively across teams, building trust and delivering results.
- You possess strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology-related field.
