Brief Description
Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment is seeking a results-driven Product Manager to lead multiple New Product Development (NPD) initiatives within our generator and outdoor power equipment portfolio. This role serves as the primary interface between Westinghouse and our manufacturing partners in Asia, ensuring products are delivered on time, on cost, and on specification.
This Product Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams while directly guiding suppliers through product design, development, and commercialization. This individual must be highly organized, technically proficient, and capable of managing multiple complex programs simultaneously. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, proactive risk management, and the ability to drive accountability across global teams to bring innovative, high-quality products to market.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Supplier Base as well as Marketing, Quality and Supply Chain teams to bring to market a wide range of product portfolios in the outdoor power equipment industry.
- Monitor progress on generator New Product Development (NPD) programs and work with various suppliers to ensure products are delivered on time, on cost, on spec. Regularly present engineered project status, schedule updates, and financial updates to stakeholders.
- Set deliverables, project timelines, and report status to team leaders.
- Ability to manage a large quantity of programs at once.
- Ability to advise suppliers on product design, manufacturing, cost, schedules.
- Effectively identify and communicate major technical and schedule issues to team leaders in a clear, concise, and timely manner while driving appropriate actions to remedy the issues.
- Support daily communication between Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment and the suppliers on NPD and mature products.
- Ensuring all projects have the proper documentation conforming to the NPD process.
- Ensuring all cross functions are properly documenting progress on NPD programs.
- Prospect new suppliers.
- Develop resource plans.
- Ability to proactively manage risk.
- Manage cross functional relationships across the business to support standardization and product development.
- Develop and improve business and department processes.
- 3+ years experience developing outdoor power equipment in a product management or program manager capacity.
- Knowledge in some or all the following areas: small gas engines, generators, pressure washers, batteries, battery systems.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge in Problem Solving, and/or technical audits.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a Business or Engineering Field.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
