Operations Manager
Ferretti Search is delighted to partner with a growing infrastructure and utility services organization to locate their next Project Manager focused on engineering-driven distribution projects. This is a newly created, high-urgency role supporting a large, multi-project utility program with heavy emphasis on scheduling, reporting, and hands-on project execution.
Location: Columbus, OH (On-site preferred, some hybrid flexibility possible case by case)
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base salary, with flexibility up to ~$150,000 for an ideal candidate
Additional Compensation: Bonus eligibility around 10 percent possible
Schedule: Full-time, primarily on-site
What’s in it for you?- High visibility, newly created role: Step into a position with immediate ownership over a critical utility program running multiple parallel projects.
- Program-level responsibility: Manage a portfolio of distribution-focused projects rather than a single long-duration build.
- Hands‑on environment: This is a do‑and‑lead role for someone who enjoys owning schedules, reporting, and execution details.
- Growth-oriented organization: Join a mid‑sized, expanding infrastructure contractor with increasing engineering and project complexity.
- Program and project management: Oversee multiple short‑cycle engineering and distribution projects running in parallel, from intake through execution.
- Scheduling ownership: Build, maintain, and manage detailed schedules using MS Project, including sequencing and dependency tracking.
- Client and stakeholder coordination: Translate client requirements into executable work plans and manage communication across internal engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
- Reporting and analytics: Develop KPI reporting using Excel, pivot tables, charts, and data pulled from multiple sources.
- Risk and issue management: Identify risks early, track mitigation actions, and ensure projects remain aligned on scope and timing.
- Execution support: Operate with limited administrative support, owning much of the planning, tracking, and reporting work personally.
- Utility or electrical background: Experience supporting distribution projects within utilities, electrical contractors, or closely related construction environments.
- Strong scheduler: Advanced, hands‑on experience with MS Project is required.
- Execution‑oriented PM: Comfortable doing the work, not just talking about it. Many successful candidates will have grown from scheduling or project controls into a PM role.
- Highly organized: Able to manage many moving parts, parallel projects, and shifting priorities without losing control of details.
- Reporting-focused: Confident building KPI reports and performance summaries for both internal leadership and external clients.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.: U.S. citizen or green card holder required.
