Tech GIS​/GPS Quality Control

* Performs Quality Management for new and existing facility data to ensure accurate and timely recording of natural gas and electric facility updates in a work management system and a GIS system.
* Reviews project completion information and geospatial data to assure compliance with proposed designs that adhere to policies, practices, standards, and applicable codes.
* Uses completion reports, “as-built” sketches, right of way agreements, tax district documentation, and other related information to ensure the strategic, timely, accurate, and cost-effective recording of facility records, land base records, and taxing district boundaries in the GIS system.
* Ensures all updates to the work management system, GIS, and plant accounting systems are completed timely and accurately in accordance with department objectives, goals and priorities.
* Collaborates with Leader and key business partners in the establishment of group goals, objectives, and priorities to achieve department performance metrics.
* Recommends, creates, implements and maintains improved systems, procedures and processes to advance department and company goals and initiatives.
* Assurance that project data is consistent with project design that comply with policies, practices, standards, and applicable codes, while meeting critical deadlines
* Accurate and timely capture of natural gas and electric facility data in the enterprise GIS system.
* Provides project support as well as respond to inquiries to assist with key business decisions.
* Partners with stakeholders, such as Field Operations, System Operations, Finance (Asset Accounting), IT, and Pipeline Safety and Compliance, to meet strategic business goals and objectives.
* Provides training, mentoring and support to new personnel.
** Required Qualifications For Position
*** High School Diploma or Equivalent
* 2+ years' experience working with geospatial technology including but not limited to GIS, CAD, GNSS, or surveying, OR 2+ years' experience with gas or electric engineering design, records management, or operations records support
* 2 + years' Experience in the interpretation and application of standards, codes, regulations and proposed designs.
* Demonstrated knowledge of various PC applications and software (i.e. Word, Excel).
* Proficiency in basic math, geometry, and mapping concepts.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Strong communication skills; both oral and written.
* Ability to be self-directed and effective in a geographically dispersed organization.
* Contribution to team success through personal and team efforts.
* Demonstration of adaptability and flexibility.
* Demonstration of high work standards with a quality orientation.
* Proficiency in corporate digital mapping/GIS software (i.e. ESRI, ArcFM, Micro Station, AutoCAD).
* Demonstrated knowledge of gas and electric operations
* Highly skilled and extensive experience in reading, interpreting, and calculating spatial measurements scales.
* Working knowledge of Field Operations support systems (i.e. WMS, DIS, Power Plant).
* Proven knowledge of the design capital job order completion process.
** Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
*** Associate’s degree in an engineering or GIS related discipline. Equivalent professional work experience is acceptable.
* 2 + years' experience reading and accurately interpreting “as-built” documentation, design and completion sketches, operating maps, highway relocation plans, survey plats, tax annexations, and right of way documentation.
