Join us as our new Sr. Project Manager-Capital Expenditures
Welcome to the role of Sr. Project Manager where you will directly manage capital projects or parts of capital projects to include planning and follow-up on project deliverables, schedule, scope, budget development, safety, staffing, design, procurement, installation, start-up, and project handover. Routinely takes responsibility for high degree of difficulty projects with Cap Ex costs greater than 15 M. Operates with high degree of autonomy and expert stakeholder engagement.
In this role you'll make an impact by:
• Aligns scope with Operations teams, global colleagues and full project team. Collaborate with line of business to assure that user requirements are effectively transformed into project solutions ensuring adherence to local regulatory requirements, company standard and best practices.
• Proactively manages schedule to ensure integration with the full project deliverables.
• Focusses on clear roles & responsibilities within the project team and external partners, vendors and consultants. Directs work of all staff working in the project.
• Ensures accurate costing for projects, timely budget tracking, clear contract structures and change controls are in place for all work.
• Coordinates, supervises and directs efforts of all involved internal and external suppliers and resources, contractors and consultants. Champions effective feedback within the project team. Applies experience in varied technical fields to ensure a cohesive cross-functional project plan.
• Responsible for planning, budgets, forecasting and reporting for projects.
• Responsible to audit onsite construction for safety and quality control. Creates accountability and delegates as necessary for the full project team.
• Applies experience to determine best project execution methodology for the company including contract and sourcing strategies.
• Maintains expertise in internal Project Management standards. Continually applies these standards to their areas of responsibility to create high level of transparency for the organization.
• Utilizes risk management regularly within the project and quantifies potential impacts to projects.
• Stays current with new industry developments in engineering techniques, machines, equipment, materials, etc. and incorporates the innovations in the engineering function to the best advantage of the Company.
• Ensure that all project activities comply with corporate and local purchasing policies for the procurement of goods and services.
• Follows all Novonesis and local site safety regulations and provides engineering recommendations to assist area managers in reducing or eliminating employees' exposure to injuries or illnesses.
• Support the company environmental policy; assure that the environmental impact of changes to processes, equipment and materials is assessed prior to implementation.
• Perform project reviews for other departmental project managers prior to critical project milestones on their projects.
• Participates and actively leads department and cross-functional teams.
To succeed you must hold:
- BS Engineering discipline or strongly related field with 7+ years in project management
- 12+ years of relevant experience in engineering and technical disciplines.
- Experience in construction in manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
- Project management certification such as PMP strongly preferred
