The Sr. Electrical Project Engineer will oversee electrical control systems within the division, working closely with production sites and other essential partners. The position focuses on guiding the planning, development, and implementation of key projects, ensuring they are completed safely, within budget, and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Manage capital electrical projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
- Lead the electrical and controls engineering disciplines on major capital projects.
- Oversee contract engineering resources to ensure accurate and efficient execution of design and commissioning tasks.
- Lead electrical design, budgeting, and commissioning for major capital projects, ensuring efficient execution through engineering packages, automation, and accurate funding estimates for on-time, on-budget completion.
- Manage and lead a variety of projects including greenfield, brownfield, asset rebuilds/retooling, or innovation/automation.
- Lead electrical upgrades to enhance product quality, maximize equipment uptime, and optimize line efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to SAFE and Critical 6 principles and requirements.
- Lead electrical aspects of multiple projects simultaneously by networking with engineering firms. Activity includes directing scope definition and cost estimates, defining control strategies, directing programming resources, and coordinating electrical resources for commissioning and startup.
- Monitor projects for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.
- Ensure all projects are delivered consistent with scope and expectations around operability and cost.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance on critical control system applications.
- Assist plant personnel in troubleshooting of various control systems.
- Ensure PLC/HMI controls are appropriately configured and programmed to allow for efficient and consistent operation.
- Lead divisional electrical safety by ensuring compliance with LTT, control reliability, and safeguarding measures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering project execution, with experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience with major electrical/controls technology platforms – Allen Bradley or Siemens preferred.
- Strong understanding of OT networking.
- Strong knowledge of motor control, programmable controllers, software, instrumentation, feedback control systems, control system networks, and supervisory computer and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, control valves, and servo systems.
- Experience leading electrical portions of manufacturing capital projects.
- Experience interfacing with cross-functional disciplines and organizations on project delivery.
