Responsibilities- Perform highway lighting reviews for ODOT projects.
- Evaluate railroad crossing preemption treatments for applicability.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Highway Lighting, Signal Design, and Preemption.
- Participate in railroad crossing field reviews.
- Assist with ongoing updates to Highway Lighting, Signal Design, and Preemption Standards.
- Assist districts with electrical and lighting issues in the field.

- Or bachelor's degree in engineering; valid certificate as Engineer‑In‑Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 years engineering‑related experience.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.
Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
