Vehicle Accident Reconstructionist​/Biomechanical Engineer

• Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of vehicles and mechanical equipment and their impact on the human body.
• Conduct research and forensic investigations in the areas of impact biomechanics, occupant protection, ergonomics, workplace safety, and/or medical devices.
• Conduct vehicular accident reconstruction analyses.
• Evaluate bodily injuries inflicted by machinery, automobiles, mechanical equipment or slip/trip and falls.
• Apply engineering principles in accordance with industry standards to investigation analysis.
• Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients.
• Prepare and submit written reports, documenting findings and results when requested.
• Explain to clients, in layman's terms, your investigation, analysis and findings.
• Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups.
• Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending company-paid educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
• Develop and maintain client relations.

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics or similar.
• Education or training in Impact Biomechanics.
• Minimum of three years, 5+ years preferred, of post-academic engineering work experience.
• P.E. registration through testing or ability to obtain.
• Public speaking experience a plus.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to travel 25% of the time, with potential to increase post-training.
• Ability to maneuver in and around job/incident sites.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to carry/transport equipment to and from job/incident sites.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to drive in all conditions.
• Ability to fly on airplanes.
• Ability to visually inspect job sites and relevant artifacts.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the job/incident site.
• Ability to learn a new industry and obtain required certifications.
• Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance.
• Regular and predictable presence at work.
