DescriptionSenior sales engineer with 5+ years in industrial/steel sales, responsible for managing the full sales lifecycle and serving as a trusted technical advisor for steel mills across the Midwest territory. Seeking a relationship-oriented professional who excels at building deep trust with plant managers and maintenance departments. This role is a regional field position covering Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, or Western Illinois/Chicago.
Key Responsibilities- Relationship Management: Primary technical point of contact for steel mills.
- Technical Consultation: Conduct site visits to identify equipment wear, campaign life extensions, and safety improvement opportunities.
- Account Stewardship: Manage the full sales lifecycle from requirements identification to coordination with internal fabrication and engineering teams.
- Market Intelligence: Stay embedded in the sector to anticipate large-scale capital equipment replacement cycles.
- Industry Background: Experience in Blast Furnace or Hot End steel mill environments is highly preferred.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Must be mechanically inclined; engineering degree not required but ability to speak machine shop language is needed.
- Sales Profile: Proven success in industrial B2B sales, prioritizing long-term trust over short-term closings.
- Location: Must be based within Great Lakes industrial corridor.
