Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Structural Engineer to join its design team in Herndon, Virginia. AWS designs, builds, and operates data centers worldwide, leading cloud computing infrastructure. Engineers in AWS work to design resilient, cost‑effective data center facilities, ensuring world‑class uptime and efficiency.

As a Data Center Structural Engineer at AWS, you will be part of the design team for Amazon DCs in the Americas Region and impact other projects worldwide. You will serve as a subject‑matter expert, providing technical guidance, reviewing milestone drawings by consultants, solving large‑scale implementation issues, and fulfilling structural design requirements.

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• 4+ years of commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering.
• US Citizenship Required.

• Professional Engineer License.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
