The Will Group is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer – Fire Protection to support large-scale data center construction projects in New Albany, Ohio. What You’ll DoDesign and develop fire protection systems for mission-critical data center facilities
Lead coordination efforts with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams
Review construction documents, RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, and commissioning plans
Ensure compliance with NFPA, FM Global, OSHA, IBC, and client standards
Support field inspections, commissioning activities, and quality assurance reviews
Evaluate reliability, redundancy, and maintainability of critical infrastructure systems
Contribute to engineering standards and best practices across projects
What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field
10+ years of fire protection engineering experience5+ years supporting mission-critical or data center construction projects
Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, FM Global requirements, and fire protection strategies
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM coordination, hydraulic calculations, and commissioning
Strong communication, collaboration, and project execution skills
Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license
NICET certification or Fire Protection specialization
Experience supporting hyperscale data center clients
Familiarity with sustainable and energy-efficient system design
Compensation & Benefits Good Faith Salary Range:
The annual starting salary for this position is between $120,000 to $135,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
