Job OverviewProtect the environment and public health by ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws. Review, prepare, and process permit applications and perform compliance monitoring, inspections, and emissions calculations.
Responsibilities- Review and process applications for agency‑issued air permits for various industrial facilities.
- Perform and report out compliance inspections of air pollution sources at regulated facilities.
- Review data submitted in compliance and fee reports; perform emissions calculations.
- Investigate citizen complaints and potential air pollution issues.
- 12 months experience as Environmental Specialist 1 (DOE #85861).
- Or 4 years training or experience in engineering or chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or related physical or health science fields with responsibility for compliance monitoring, inspections, investigations, or permit applications.
- Or baccalaureate degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, earth science, urban & regional planning, geology or comparable field with training to be commensurate with duties.
