This role is for a Structural Engineering Intern located in the Columbus, OH office. As a summer intern you will assist other structural engineers with various project tasks that may include engineering design, contract document production and construction phase engineering support. You will be mentored by a group of professional engineers and technical experts in designing facilities such as water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities for water and wastewater plants, and conveyance systems like vaults, channels, and culverts.
As part of our team, our goal is to provide a training opportunity to engage in the roles and responsibilities of an infrastructure focused structural engineer. You will also collaborate with our CAD designers to communicate how structural requirements get translated into construction drawings. This role will help you build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering and show how structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines.
- Assist other structural engineers with project tasks that may include engineering design, contract document production and construction phase engineering support.
- Collaborate with CAD designers to communicate how structural requirements are translated into construction drawings.
- Provide support that helps build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of structural engineering and its integration with other disciplines.
- Design facilities such as water and wastewater pump stations and treatment facilities for water and wastewater plants, and conveyance systems like vaults, channels, and culverts.
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Good communication (both written and verbal), problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Entering at least a Junior year of University education
- Self-driven time management and organizational skills
- Experience with a PDF editor such as Bluebeam and computer aided drafting programs such as Revit and Microstation
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
This position will be open for at least 3 days. Posted Salary Range:
Minimum 40,000.00;
Upper 60,000.00. The base salary range for this position is $40,000.00 to $60,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
